Poor service customer ever. Ive never have been submitted at a despotic relation like in this hôtel. The staff is not able to help you but cheat you. They are not able to understand anything and cancel the stay only to stole you money... …
Good value for money, although you feel it. ~25% cheaper than other accommodation when I booked.
- Friendly staff, fluent in English. Rentable padlocks (10CHF deposit) for early luggage drop before check-in in the afternoon. They let you use your own padlock.
- Comfortable bed, room was clean. Toilets and showers were "clean enough". Showers are on a ~30s push-button timer, but the water was hot in the morning.
- Bad soundproofing to the street outside and the corridor: woken at 6:30am by trucks moving and people outside.
- 10min walk to lakeside, although at night beware that the direct route passes through the sketchy red-light-style area.
I stayed in a single-bed room on a short stay. The place is nice and clean but very hot during summer. Only a small electric fan and two small lamps. Only two power outlets so bring your own power extension cord if you don't want to unplug …
The room was extremely warm… The halls smelled of piss. The carpets weren’t clean. I just felt icky being here, but the staff was pleasant ; every single person. I was only there for one night, so I don’t feel like I can assess that well. But it just wasn’t pleasant and I couldn’t wait to get out of there.
Staff was very rude, maids didn't clean my room for 2 days...the front desk was unprofessional and disrupted my work, were uncooperative, lied about me, accused me of things I never did, threatened me, allowed non guests to come into the lobby and kitchen and make food and take coffees, and sleep in the lobby. They played terrible music....as well
These people are slandering me, lying about me, I am very upset about it, I don't take kindly to liars, I want a refund right now...i paid $100 a night approximately- and they allowed homeless people to sleep in the lobby, allowed non- guest in the facility to used the kitchen and coffee, they never told me there was free breakfast, i was polite and spoke to no one. I was there working on my projects of music and writing my book...i made a recent booking and was told I am 'blacklisted' and they claim an employee told me I was 'blacklisted' upon checkout; a complete lie. I tend to walk around with an unlit cigar in my mouth, perhaps this has been misconstrued by haters of freedom, I have seen this behavior before in 'other no smoking' establishments where Stazi types are sent into a panic by just the sight of tobacco; it is a problem. I want a refund, as they canceled a 7 day work trip I had scheduled, but they refuse to refund me, an expenditure of $800, I need the money in my account... this is a grave wrongdoing by this hostel.
So much for Christmas
These people are slandering me, lying about me, I am very upset about it, I don't take kindly to liars, I want a refund right now as I booked a 7 night stay for December and they canceled it and kept my money..on my prior stay in November …
Great location, near public transport, a train station, and grocery stores. We had a 3-bed room, a very comfortable and clean room, you will also find a washbasin, mirror, and big lockers in the room. We got clean bedsheets, pillow covers, and towels. The toilets were quite clean all the time. One can cook in the kitchen, you will find a lot of utensils and some free essential products as well. Enjoyed being here with my friends.
Liked • The location was great, close to the tram stop, walking distance to the train station and to the lake. There are also a few restaurants in the area as well as a grocery store. The staff was nice and we were lucky enough to be upgraded from a 4 bed dorm to a 2 bed dorm.
Disliked • There were A LOT of older men (+50) and honestly a lot of them looked homeless (they have a partnership with an association for temporary housing for homeless people called La CausE). There's also an organization I was lucky to be traveling with my partner and had someone to help me feel safer but would not recommend for a solo female traveler. Also on the first morning someone (who I hope was staff) walked in to our room at 7am, causing us to wake up in a panic as we were in a 2 bed room and should be the only 2 with a key. Our room was also right above the entrance and it was super noisy until 2am as people stay there to smoke and chat with their drinks. The room was also extremely hot and there was no ventilation at all (weather was between 23-27°), i wouldn't want to stay there with warmer temperatures.
